Hey dear readers,
Just when I finally had a plan to make this newsletter a weekly thing, I ended up taking a month-long break 🫠. Maybe it's time I accept that deadlines for personal projects aren’t really my thing.
More on that below… but first, let’s talk about giving others deadlines:
Mirrored Dreams is on Kickstarter!
Dominik and I are thrilled about the progress of our Mirrored Dreams book. We've set some deadlines for the 12 guest artists involved, and I have to say, what they’ve delivered so far looks AMAZING! We're on a great track, and we’ve just launched our pre-release page on Kickstarter. Make sure to sign up for updates so you don’t miss out on the release and early-bird offers.
Ok, now..are deadlines overrated?
So, does this mean no more deadlines for my personal projects? Not exactly. Deadlines and good project management are definitely valuable, especially when it comes to client work. Meeting client deadlines is a must — it's just part of being professional.
But when it comes to my personal projects, I’m starting to think I should embrace a more relaxed approach: an it’s done when it’s done mindset. This way of working has actually served me well over the years as I’ve built my freelance business. So I guess I just need to skip to stress over self-imposed deadlines? 😄
And maybe — just maybe — those noise brushes I’ve been promising since 2022 will see the light of day… someday.
By the way: I still believe in setting short-, mid-, and long-term goals. They’re super helpful and important. I’ll write a little article on that… uhm… soonish! 😉 Do you guys write down your goals regularly?
Thanks for tuning in to today’s update, and have a fantastic weekend!
Cheers
Stefan
Well, I thought I shoudl try to stick to some sort of publishing calendar with my substack, but then I remembered it is called 'The Chaos of Enjoyment' so I need to stay on brand and just keep my readers in suspence, forever.
